Hungarian-born artist Dr Gyula Bajo held his first exhibition in Budapest 1932.Received doctorate in art 1942, subsequently moved to England. Was commissioned to paint mural depicting the spirit of Co-Op Movement 1958-9 in Stevenage town centre. Also worked at Stoke Potteries where he designed what became known as Bajo-ware - tableware with unusual motifs based on combination of history, myths and modern themes
