Yuriy Kuchinov was born 1951. Studied at Strogonov Art School in Moscow 1977-1982. Began exhibiting 1983. Member of the Union of Artist of Russia since 1995. Important shows include "All-Union Art Exhibition", Moscow, 1997. Personal exhibition in Germany, Berlin, 2006. His works are distinguished by thick. luscious brush strokes, impasto technique with frequent use of palette knife and vibrant colours which impart to his paintings an uplifting quality and a feel of great spontaneity. Many of his works are in private collections in the USA, Great Britain, Spain, Germany and Japan.
