1898-1985
One of the great English book illustrators and teachers, he was born in London, and worked early in stage design before deciding to become an artist. In 1927 joined A.S.Hartrick's lithographic class at the Central School in London, a class he took over when Hartrick retired.
Hutton's paintings were exhibited at the RA, London Group;, Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours, Redfern Gallery and elsewhere. The British Museum, Tate and V & A Museum, University of Warwick Art Collection, National Gallery of Canada etc hold examples of his work.
